A Wicked Return!

Hey Guys! Long time no see! As of late blogging has taken a back seat, but I hope to begin posting again on a regular basis. I couldn't let one of my favorite holidays pass without posting a look! This is what I will be wearing makeup-wise tonight. I had a desire to use black and red eyeshadow so that was my inspiration. It's not horribly dramatic but it can always be amped up with a few tweaks some lashes and gorgeous sparkly nails! If by some miracle I do end up donning a costume this evening I will probably be something such as a devil, cat , rabbit or something quick that involves a headband bearing ears and can be based around leggings and boots LOL! At any rate I hope you all have a fabulously wonderful evening! On to the look!

NerdLacquer HyperSpace Bypass

I discovered Nerd Lacquer in early December on Etsy and I was immediately impressed at how professional the bottles looked. After looking in the shop I knew I was hooked. There were so many imaginative color combinations and witty descriptions for each one. I ordered a mini four pack of polishes and the first I tried was Hyperspace Bypass. This is one of three shades inspired by the (Fabulous!) book Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's a bright and pigmented yellow with small black glitter and bigger silver holographic pieces. It is my absolute favorite nail polish. Ever. It's so striking and different. You must try it! Amanda's shop is closed right now so she can catch up on orders but it's definitely worth the wait. Etsy can notify you by email when the shop is up again if you so choose. I didn't take many pictures while I had this on but I'm telling you it's an incredible shade! The application and wear are absolutely fabulous. This is an incredible brand that should be on your radar. I know it's all over mine! NerdLacquer polishes retail for $8. Mini bottles are $4. These can also be purchased on Harlow & Co.

Let's Get Nekkid!

Let's Get Nekkid is the latest collection from Cult Nails. It's a collection of shades inspired by the skintones of people in Maria's (the creator of Cult Nails) family but named after nude beaches. I think it's a fabulous idea and it was executed perfectly! There are 5 shades in this collection. They are:
Mazo- A sheer beige with a gold shimmer. I love this shade! It's the perfect color to wear if you don't want a lot of color on the nails.
Baker- This is a orangey peach beige. This one is not as sheer as Mazo, but it can be built up nicely.
Toxic Seaweed- This is a pretty greeneish teal color that can be worn alone or layered. It's got alot of glitter and flakes in it. I can't wait to see how this looks layered over various polishes.
Tulum- This is a smokey grreyish taupe brown color with gold shimmer. It's gorgeous! It looks warmer on the nail than it does on the bottle
Swanbourne- This is one of my favorites! It's a rich bittersweet chocolate brown with gold shimmer. It's simply gorgeous!
My favorites are Mazo, Swanbourne and Toxic Seaweed because it breaks up the monotony of the nudes perfectly. I really like this collection! It's fun and has a great story behind it that you can read here. I pre-ordered my set but these will be on sale soon. I would watch the Cult Nails Facebook and Twitter pages to see exactly when especially if you want Toxic Seaweed. It's limited to what Maria has on hand if/until she can find another source for the flakes in it.
This is another mini-post. I apologize in advance for the swatches. I will be getting some lighting equipment soon, so my swatches will be more accurate, consistent and clear. Other than that I just need to perfect painting my nails. :)
Swatches are with two thin coats, no base or top coats.

Hello and Happy New Year! I wanted to share a polish with you guys that I got awhile ago called Pizzicato. It's from a fantastic brand called Rescue Beauty Lounge. If you have never heard of them before I highly recommend going to the website and checking them out. Not only are the colors and formula phenomenal the founder & creator Ji Baek is dedicated to her customers to a level I've rarely seen. This color is (part of the FireBird collection) a sheer pale lavender with multi colored sparkles in it. It's gorgeous! This will be a mini-post since I didn't take many pics when I did this mani.
