Pink and Gray

This is a look I created in response to a request I received from Medina on how to add color to a neutral face and wearing greys. Adding pops of color on the cheeks, through eyeliner and on lips are ways anyone can inject color into a neutral palette. I hope this helps! :-)

The Black Queen Of Hearts

I know I know it's the Red Queen of Hearts, but too much red is enough! I saw my black lipstick lying there and that's when I decided to become the Black Queen of Hearts! I love love love this look! It's so much fun and I love the dark twist! Try it in every color! I am! By the way, Happy Halloween!

BatGirl To The Rescue!

I have never done "official" Halloween makeup, at least not on myself which is totally mind-boggling since Halloween is just about my favorite holiday! I decided to do a mask first and I think it came out pretty good! I used M.A.C's Penultimate liner to sketch. I used gel liner to outline and do detail work (which wasn't matte) and a matte black pigment to fill in the mask. So, it came out looking dry AND wet, which I wanted to fix but didn't know how, so I decided to leave well enough alone and present it to you as is! This is a rendition of one of M.A.C's Halloween face charts which was titled BatGirl! It was all kinds of perfect because I wanted to do a mask AND I happenend to have had a BatGirl costume hanging in my closet! (Seriously!) So without further ado I present myself to you as BATGIRL!!!!

Cruella Re-Visited

Another Cruella look, this time with very different shadow placement. I shot some of the pictures before I put on my lips, and looking at them I think a glossy nude lip would work equally as well. That's actually what I wore with this look for the day, but I couldn't resist my reds laying there! :) What a splendid collection! Venomous Villains is adorable for the upcoming holidays! Details below!

Maleficent!

So now we reach my favorite part of Venomous Villains! Maleficent! I adore purples and things that are dramatic so naturally 98% of the collection came home with me. This is a look I imitated from Temptalia. This is her Maleficent look. I don't know how I feel about it on me, but on her it was FAB! I think I would tweak the liner a tad. I don't have a silver liquid liner (yet!) so I used SugarPill's ChromaLust in Tiara, so that's why I didn't get as fine of a line as I would have liked. At any rate looking back at my photos I like it much more now that I did then so that's a plus!

The Evil Beautiful Queen

This is a quick look I did showcasing some of the products from the Evil Queen section of Venomous Villains. I adore Toxic Tale! It's such a gorgeous color! Unfortunately alot of people are turned off by how bright it is, but it's more versatile than one might think AND it's equally gorgeous on fair and deep skintones. Check it out!

Cruella!

I LOVE this part of the collection! I love red lips and copper shadow so this was a natural for me. There are so many ways you can use the shadows in Cruella's part! The best part is if you missed Cruella you can easily duplicate the shadows and lipsticks! Try Brave Red Cremesheen Lipstick, Coppering Shadow, Creme De Nude Lipstick, (All from M.A.C) and so forth. Actually this is a really classic color palette that is alot of fun to play with. Anyone can wear red lips! Yes ANYONE! Try different shades, intensities (straight from the tube or blotted down), various liners underneath, or a couple shades mixed together! The possibilities are endless! Now on to pictures which there are alot of because I adore this look! :)

The Evil Queen

Here is the first in a series of Venomous Villains looks (Which I've dubbed the Venomous Villains Chronicles) I plan to show you. This was such a massive collection and since I got more than my fair share of product, what better way to excercise my creativity than numerous blog posts?! This is a look I did for work. It was VERY busy and when I got home I was beat, thus no lips! There is so much you can do with Venomous Villains! Especially if you start mixing the parts of the collections! I didn't have my lips done in the photos but I wore Creme De Nude Lipstick, Viva Glam Gaga Gloss, Vino lipliner and Resort Life Lipgelee. I switched lip combos so much that day it's impossible to really be sure but it was something like that....

That Suspect Stole My Kush & My Money!!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA but I've been working alot lately and since my job is a couple hours away I haven't been updating as much. I have shot a few awesome looks I'll post soon though! Until then, stay obsessed! :)
This is a look I did using Urban Decay's Book of Shadows 3. I am in love with all the new colors! They are amazing and look exactly like their namesakes. The colors are rich, buttery and uber blendable. This is a must in my book. Get BOS3 now, while you still can! (Check Sephora, Ulta and Macy's as well as Beauty.com)

Urban Decay Book Of Shadows 3!

I was finally able to nab this from Sephora! I totally missed it when it was available on Urban Decay's website. I guess I wasn't available those particular 10 minutes it was in stock on that one day. But I'm no longer (as) miffed now that I have my beloved Book Of Shadows in hand!  Boy is it gorgeous! From the lighted inner lid to all 7 of the new colors I'm totally amped! All of the new colors are total winners! The city themed names of all the colors in the palette is so fitting and cute.
I've heard alot of people asking if they have BOS 2 is it necessary to get volume 3? Yes it is. It's also necessary to get it if you have volume 1, the Ammo Palette, Alice in Wonderland BOS or a limited number of Urban Decays single shadows. Or if your a collector. I guess what I'm really saying is if you want it or think you want it and can afford to; get it.

Weekender!

So it's not the weekend but since I used SugarPill's Weekender ChromaLust on my lid I thought that would be a great title. (That and I didn't know what else to call this post.) This one of the seven new ChromaLusts that SugarPill released at the beginning of this month. In my initial post I said I would try using these with Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. This one worked beautifully! No mixing medium needed (even though I had it at the ready)! This is such a gorgeous color! So rich and shimmery! I love the color of all the little sparkles in it and guess what? No fall out with the Epoxy!

Faithfully Yours!

Last week I picked up Faithfully Yours, one of the new Pro Longwear Lipcremes from M.A.C. I was the most excited about this shade, it jumped out at me at update and I knew I had to have it! It's really interesting (at least on my skin). It's this dirty mauve purple that can venture from warm to cool to neutral depending on what it's paired with. I think alot of different skintones can rock this shade even if you only use it as a stain. The formula itself is very light-weight and provides excellent coverage. It has M.A.C's signature scent and is packaged in a matte black cylindrical tube that has to be "snapped" closed or it will dry out. There are some nice shades in this formula and I think they're definitely worth a look. These retail for $16.

NEW SugarPill Chromalusts!!

Left to Right
Weekender, Birthday Girl, Tipsy, Paperdoll
Magentric, Stella, Darling
Hi Guys! When I saw SugarPill had released 7 new ChromaLust Loose Shadows I knew I had to have them! These are the same bright, pigmented and interesting colors I've come to know and love from this company. I do find that the base and application of these shadows do affect the look of them greatly. For me the best way to use these are mixed with M.A.C's waterbased mixing medium and applied over Urban Decay's Primer Potion.

FYRINNAE!!

Top: Pixie Epoxy
Left to Right: Immortality, Boy Toy
Avenging Salem, Dressed to Kill
Hi!! If you can't tell, I'm super excited! I just discovered this fabulous little cosmetic company named Fyrinnae! It was all just by chance actually. I was on Lipglossiping reading one of her posts and she was showing how different eyeshadows looked on different eyeshadow bases one of which being Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. After seeing the comparison I knew I had to have it! One trip to Fyrinnae's website later and I was sold!

Soft Plum

This is a quick look I did using M.A.C Colour 3 Quad (LE) from Spring Color Forecast. It's such a gorgeous quad, but I think the base I used (Clinique Touchbase in Uplighting)  monochromatically softened this look waaayy more than I would have liked. Details to follow!

Pomegranate Smoke!

Hi Everyone! This is a quick look I did tonight centered aroud Stila's Smudge Pot in Pomegranate. This is such a gorgeous shade, but it was limited edition. I've seen it floating around though and if you haven't tried these, this particular shade would be a great start and worth a little hunt. It's so rich and saturated and it DOESN'T BUDGE after it's applied! Not to mention it contains pomegranate extract and other natural additives to boot!

Autumn Sunset

Hi Everyone! This is a look I did that reminded me of a sunset I would see in Autumn. I didn't plan on using such saturated lips with this, but M.A.C's lipstick in Kirsch jumped out at me and I went for it!
More pics and deets after the jump!

Temperature Rising!!

M.A.C Poetique Lipglass on Lips
Hi guys! I know we've all been bombarded with images of dark, vampy fall makeup but it's in the 90's here and I had to do another summer look! This is a quick & simple look that can be worn natural or more dramatic. I've included both variations here since I couldn't decide myself! More details after the jump!

Purple Haze!

This is a look I did using all purples. It came out ok! I love the colors but next time think I'll do something different with textures and color placement. I'm not crazy about the lashes either. Sometimes I can pop them right on and then other times it's Russian Roulette. Far away they look good, but upon closer review not so much! I also made the mistake of over applying M.A.C's Saint Germain lipstick! (Which I guess in looking at the pics; the ones I decided to post anyway, *lol* I didn't go TOO overboard!)This isn't a color that those with deeper skintones can apply with reckless abandon. (Even though this IS a color I would suggest trying on deep skin) It should be dabbed on SPARINGLY and adjusted from there. I can't really tell you why I applied it straight from the tube.... I guess all looks don't come out the way you want do they? At any rate it was fun to do and I thought I'd share! :) Want more deets? Keep Reading!

Smokey Moss Green

Hi Everyone! This is a look I did for my first M.A.C Freelance update!! I'm so excited! Anyway, I'm not really sure why I don't use my rich golden greens more (Probably because I have too much makeup!) because they really make my eyes POP! This look really didn't take long and these colors would be amazing on a myriad of skintones. It appears these sort of greens are really "in" for fall, so I guess I'm right on trend! Pictures and look info after the jump!

I'M FEATURED ON TEMPTALIA!!!

OMG I'M FEATURED ON TEMPTALIA'S BLOG!!! You can check it out here! It's a part of the feature "Your No Makeup Look" I'm beyond thrilled! This is so exciting! I also wanted to thank all of my followers and Christine (AKA Temptalia) for featuring me on her fabulous site! Here's the look I submitted!

Midnight Bloom!

Midnight Bloom with M.A.C Nightmoth Lipliner
Midnight Bloom is another Pure Color Gloss ($20) from Estee Lauders fall collection Blue Dahlia by Tom Pecheux. This an absolutely stunning color that quite frankly I have no idea how to describe. In the tube it appears to be a deep wine berry OR a black gloss with red sparkles depending on the lighting you happen to be in.

Plum Divine!

This a quick review/FOTD (Face of the Day) for the Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Plum Divine. This is a color released with their fall collection Blue Dahlia by Tom Pecheux (I got a couple other products from this collection which I'll showcase later). For women of color this is a gorgeous everyday fall neutral. If you like berries but aren't too keen on rocking them because they may be a little over the top then this color is definitely worth a glance. Fair skinned ladies will find this more dramatic but not so dramatic it can't be worn in the daytime or only at night. It will be a gorgeous berry lip on anyone!

Sassy Grass!

This is a look I did using primarily Sassy Grass eyeshadow from M.A.C's new Dare To Wear Collection. It's a gorgeous collection of vivid eyeshadows and Lipglasses inspired by Lady Gaga. Sassy Grass is a GORGEOUS bright, grassy crayon green! It's seriously beautiful and I recommend it to everyone! If you don't want it all over the lid just use it as a liner or as a bright accent.

Gold Deposit!

I have been wanting M.A.C's Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Gold Deposit ($28) for years now. I finally bought it the other day and I LOVE IT!!! It's a gorgeous gilded gold/bronze that is simply heaven buffed into the skin. I can't say enough about this product! You've got to try it! Here's a simple look I put together using it to give me a nice bronze everyday look. Enjoy!

To The Beach!

This is a look I did with some of the products I got from M.A.C's summer launch To The Beach. This is an awesome collection where I think everyone can find at least one product to love. I found several LOL! I could not wait for this collection to come out and I must say it didn't disappoint. Check it out here.

Pretty in Pink!

This is a look I did using all pinks! I usually don't do monochromatic looks like this but I felt pink that day and I think the look came out really pretty. Product info after the jump!

Violetta!

So for those of you that know M.A.C really well you know that Violetta is a hot purple lipstick that is just totally awesome! M.A.C describes it as a "Bright Clean Violet Purple". It's listed as an Amplified Creme finish which is an creamy, opaque frostless finish. This however seems to have frost to me, and in comparison to other Amplified Cremes that I own (i.e. Saint Germain) I must say it's kinda frosty!

Kissable Couture Review!

Hey Guys! Back in the winter I discovered Kissable Couture lipgloss. For those of you that don't know it's a line of lipgloss created by Keisha Whitaker (Yep, Forests' wife) and her makeup artist AJ Crimson. I'd been wanting to try it, but it wasn't that accesible and a bit on the pricey ($22 per tube) side. (For comparisons sake M.A.C lipglass cotains 0.17 oz and Kissable Couture contains 0.16 oz) Not only that but I have an unessessary amount of lipgloss and wondered what was so different about this product as opposed to the hundreds already on the market.

SugarPill Rainbow

This is a quick look I did using colors from SugarPill Burning Heart and Sweetheart Palettes. I LOVE this line! So bright and gorgeous!

Metallic Smoke

Hi guys! This a look I did using the Smoky Pigment set from M.A.C. Holiday 2009. These are such great colors to have. Whether you use them solo or in tandem, these will be a great addition to your collection if you love smoky eyes and loose shadows. I hadn't really ever used Dark Soul before and now I know why my sister (Hi Andrea!) says its her favorite pigment. FYI: M.A.C Reflects used with a mixing medium is amazing! On to the look!

My Heart is Burning!

Hey! I've been absent for awhile but I've started a new job and I'm in training right now. Hopefully when that ends I'll be on here much more. I have been tweeting a bit so if you'd like follow/contact me there!
This is a look I did using the Burning Heart Quad from SugarPill. (Can't get over this line!) This palette is so hot! I absolutely love it! I know one of my pictures is fuzzy but it shows the brightness of the shadows and the color in my gloss. (Still working on the camera thing) If you want to try or check SugarPill out, click here! Now on with the show!

Decora LOVE!!

Hey guys!! I just recieved my latest SugarPill order! I just cannont get enough of this brand!! I got Decora and Asylum ChromaLust Loose Shadows. In this look I used primarily Decora and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I haven't heard too many people talk about this one, and I must say its so HOT. Rich baby pink with green sparkles that stay in the shadow and not on your face! These are long lasting by the way. I used my M.A.C Mixing Medium and once it dried it didn't budge! I did have on my Urban Decay Primer Potion though...but these really do have great staying power on their own. Anyway, enough chatter on to the look! :)

Tipsy on Absinthe!

This is a look I threw together the other day. I wanted something quick and colorful and this fit that bill! I'm still working on how to get more details of my looks to show...hopefully you can see the jist of them until I get it all worked out!
BTW: Absinthe is a green highly potent (and illegal) anise-flavored spirit, hence my FOTD title!

New Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Base Review

Hey guys! If you need a new foundation primer, or have never tried one and have always been curious, this just may be the product for you!

Royally Sugared Up!! (NewPics Added 4-10!)

Hi! I hope everyone had a fab Easter Holiday, I know I did! ;)
So this is a look I did a couple days ago using one of my favorite SugarPill Chroma Lust Shadows in Royal Sugar. This is a rich, bold shimmery royal blue that is totally awesome! Think of a more amped up, velvety version of M.A.C's Sea & Sky Mineralize Duo (The dark blue side). This wasn't the look I wanted to end up with but it's what I got and I think it works!

Dramatic Mermaid FOTD

This is a look I did yesterday that was inspired by watery mermaid colors. Lately I've really been feeling blue. (As you'll see in some of my upcoming posts) HA!
Bear with me as I'm still trying to figure out the best lighting and camera settings to get as accurate of a picture as I can. I'm not quite there, but it's coming! ;-)

SugarPill Review & Swatches!!

What better way to start my blog than with a review of the insanely popular new cosmetic line Sugarpill?! I recieved my order this past Monday and I must say I'm in love! I've already placed a second order for more of the loose shadows! (Asylum & Decora) Sugarpill is the brainchild of Shrinkle (Amy) and I must say she really hit the ball out of the park with her line. It's bright AND pigmented! This is exactly what I've been looking for, and I couldn't be more pleased with my package! The colors are smooth, easy to blend and totally unique. The excitement begins before you even open the box. Its's a white box with the SugarPill logo printed on front along with a cute sticker. Inside everything is wrapped in hot pink tissue and you recieve a SugarPill logo sticker, Amy's business card and a two-sided Sugarpill card featuring looks from the line. You've got to give this a try! My current faves are: Royal Sugar, Hysteric, Burining Heart Quad and Sweetheart Quad. You can purchase Sugarpill here.
